MONGOLIA AND AFOCO SIGN PLEDGE FOR FOREST RESTORATION COOPERATION

During UNCCD COP17, the National Forest Agency of Mongolia (NFA) and the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) signed a Pledge of Cooperation to support forest restoration in Mongolia.

The cooperation is aligned with the Billion Trees National Movement and Mongolia’s national land degradation neutrality targets under the UNCCD framework.

The event highlighted Mongolia’s vision for forest restoration, the contribution of the Billion Trees National Movement, and AFoCO’s ongoing and planned support for forest restoration initiatives in Mongolia.

The pledge marks an important step toward strengthening international cooperation to restore wildfire-affected areas and drylands in support of Mongolia’s forest restoration efforts.
